Why MOH is different
The UAE's federal licence
Same national framework as DHA, DOH and SHA — a different map of where you can work.
Emirates covered
Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Sharjah has its own authority (SHA) for local-government and private facilities since July 2025.
Attempts, total
One pool across DHA, DOH, MOHAP and SHA. MOHAP gives no 4th attempt, but the PQR allows one final attempt with a different authority.
Required first
The PQR requires Primary Source Verification of your degree, licence, experience and good standing before your evaluation goes ahead.
License scope
MOHAP licenses federal government health facilities — including the federal facilities inside Sharjah.
The pathway
From PQR to a federal UAE license
The same national framework as DHA, DOH and SHA, run through MOHAP's own website and app.
Step 1: Confirm you meet the PQR
MOHAP uses the Unified PQR (3rd version, April 2025), shared with DHA, DOH and SHA. For the General Dentist title: a BDS/DMD/DDS, a 12-month internship, two years of clinical experience and a valid licence from your home country.
Step 2: Primary Source Verification
Your degree, licence, experience letters and good-standing certificate are verified directly with the bodies that issued them — required by the PQR before MOHAP evaluates you.
Step 3: MOH credentials your file
Apply for MOHAP's Health Professional Evaluation on the MOHAP website or smart app, signing in with UAE PASS. MOHAP reviews your verified documents against the PQR for your title.
Step 4: Your eligibility to book activates
If an exam is required, MOHAP issues a Prometric eligibility ID. It is only valid for a short window, so book your slot as soon as you receive it.
Step 5: Book at Prometric
Book under Prometric's MOHAP exam programme with your eligibility ID. Note: Sheryan is DHA's portal, not MOHAP's — you won't use it for an MOH licence.
Step 6: Sit the exam
A computer-based exam in English at a Prometric centre. MOHAP does not publish the question count or duration. Bring the ID Prometric asks for in your booking confirmation.
Step 7: Get your result
Your result comes back to MOHAP as Pass or Fail; the minimum passing score is 60%. A pass lets you move on to licensing with a MOHAP facility; a fail uses one attempt from the shared UAE pool.

Rules every MOH candidate should know
What makes MOHAP different from DHA, DOH and SHA, and what all four share.
Know which emirate you will work in
MOHAP covers Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, plus federal government facilities. Dubai is DHA, Abu Dhabi is DOH, and Sharjah's local-government and private facilities are SHA — pick the authority that matches your job offer.
Attempts are pooled nationally
The unified PQR gives three attempts in total across DHA, DOH, MOHAP and SHA. A cancelled or no-show MOHAP appointment at Prometric also counts as one of them.
Often the first UAE license candidates sit
Licensure Recognition can let a professional with a valid MOHAP licence move to DHA, DOH or SHA for the same or a lower title without a second exam. It depends on each authority's criteria — confirm before assuming it applies to you.
Private and federal workplaces
MOHAP licenses both private facilities in its four emirates and federal government facilities across the UAE.
MOH doesn't publish a detailed blueprint
Unlike DHA's published coverage list or SCFHS's weighted blueprint, MOHAP doesn't publish a subject breakdown or question count. Prepare across the whole General Dentist curriculum.
A no-show costs you an attempt
Unlike DHA, where a missed exam is not a failed attempt, Prometric's MOHAP page says a cancelled or missed appointment counts as one of your three attempts. Only book a date you are sure you can make.
What to cover
No published blueprint
MOHAP doesn't publish a subject-by-subject blueprint. Prepare across the core General Dentist curriculum the UAE authorities share — not an official MOHAP breakdown.

MOH FAQ
Questions candidates actually ask
Answered against MOHAP's current scope and the unified PQR.
Which Emirates does an MOH license actually cover?
Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, plus federal government facilities anywhere in the UAE (including federal facilities in Sharjah). Since July 2025, Sharjah's local-government and private facilities are licensed by the Sharjah Health Authority (SHA), not MOHAP.
Is MOH easier than DHA or HAAD/DOH?
There's no official difficulty ranking, and the UAE authorities draw on the same core General Dentist curriculum. Pick the authority that matches where you will work, not the one you think is easier.
Do my MOH attempts count against my DHA or DOH total?
Yes. The unified PQR pools three attempts across DHA, DOH, MOHAP and SHA — a fail at MOHAP uses one of your three everywhere. After three fails, the PQR allows one final attempt with a different authority.
Can I upgrade an MOH license to DHA or DOH later without re-sitting?
Often, yes, through Licensure Recognition — with a valid MOHAP licence for the same or a lower title you may be exempted from re-sitting. Confirm the criteria with the authority you're applying to before assuming it covers you.
Where do I book the MOH exam?
Apply for MOHAP's Health Professional Evaluation on the MOHAP website or smart app (with UAE PASS). If an exam is required, MOHAP gives you a Prometric eligibility ID and you book at Prometric. Sheryan is DHA's system, not MOHAP's.
What happens if I miss my exam?
Prometric's MOHAP page says a cancelled or no-show appointment counts as one of your three attempts — stricter than DHA, where a missed exam is not a failed attempt. Book a date you are sure you can make.
Does MOH publish an exam blueprint like DHA does?
No — MOHAP doesn't publish a subject breakdown or question count (its exam FAQ gives only the pass mark: 60%, shown to you as Pass/Fail). Prepare across the core General Dentist curriculum that all UAE authorities share.
